Cobasi, Rylie & Kancha
3 of my best friends!

Best Friends are great for any occasion and all the time!   Cobasi, Rylie & Kancha are perfectly described as best friends!

HiKoo CoBaSi

The first 2 letters of Cotton, Bamboo and Silk.
Which means, drum roll . . . .

CoBasi is your best friend because she's kind, gentle and always agreeable.   CoBaSi is the friend you want to take to the beach, out to brunch, or a simple girls day of shopping.

These little 50 gram hanks of yarn are very misleading.   They are one of those yarns that are easy to just look over, because they just look dull.  But knit or crochet and this yarn is just oh laa laa.

Of the two patterns below, the first one is Ridgely by Knit Purl Hunter.  The pattern is available on Ravelry.   We have a pink and white one done up on the display above The delicate pink and white really has a lady-like appearance. We love the bounce, stretch and flow of the resulting feel of CoBaSi worked up.

The second picture is a Reversible Scarf that can be done in many yarns, but knit in this non wool CoBaSi it is soft, warm and squishable.

HiKoo Rylie

HiKoo Rylie Yarn is made from Baby Alpaca, Mulberry Silk, and Linen. It's a soft, yet durable luxury with excellent drape.

This is the friend you want to take out on the town, she's the highlight of the party and always has a crowd around her!

Put one of these shawls in your closet and it won't stay there long, as you'll be grabbing it for all your trips out!

The fiber blend is fluid, with great sheen and strength. A perfect yarn for projects that have clean lines, and breathability. A dead perfect yarn for any type of knit or crocheted shawl, but HiKoo Rylie would look great knit up as a summer sweater, or crochet up a lacy cardigan to throw on during slightly chilly evenings

HiKoo Rylie Yarn is made from Baby Alpaca, Mulberry Silk, and Linen. It's a soft, yet durable luxury with excellent drape.   Also comes in HiKoo Rylie Multis, and each multi perfectly pairs to one or more solids!

Here are some cute patterns in Rylie.  The Trumpet Solo by Hinterm Stein.  It is available on Ravelry.  You've just have to look at the other images the designer has uploaded.   It is a real classy pullover that can be dressed down to a casual jean look.  The designer says "Trumpet Solo is a feminine sweater with a flattering ballet neck and beautifully draping cloche sleeves. Depending on your yarn-choice you can make it a sporty companion to jeans, a romantic bohemian day-wear or an elegant evening-outfit. This pattern includes 8 options for the body shaping to create the perfectly fitting sweater for you! Knit the sleeve-bells and neckline in a slightly thinner quality for a special effect."

The second pattern is the Evolution Shawl from Rachel Henry.  The rich denim blue shawl is the Seward Shawl from the HiKoo Design team.   The last image shows Rylie and Rylie Hand Painted combined into the Moonrise Shawl Pattern.   These last 3 patterns are complimentary!

Mirasol Kancha

Kancha is the friend that has many unexpected surprises you just love. Just when you think this may be your most boring friend, she pops up with a sense of humour that throws you back with laughter!

This unassuming friend looks a bit bland, but worked up it has greart personality and is a delight to work with.

Kancha yarn comes in beautiful water color shades. The lambswool and cotton blend creates an airy fabric.  Great for summer garments, wraps and even baby wear.  It has drape and very little body.  So use this feature for sleeveless tops, or short sleeve tops, and of course any shawl or wrap.  But not really suitable for long sweaters or cardigans as the garment tend to lengthen.  Knit, crocheted or machine knit, it would be good on all.   Our shawl sample is crocheted and used just one hank.   It steam blocks out beautiful, we are very happy the with results.

The pattern we used was Falling Blossoms Shawl by Ana D on Ravelry.  It is written for a different size yarn, but we made it work.  We used a 4.5mm hook and one hank of yarn.   We cut back on the 2  sections so that we could have a full flower lace section.   It was a test.   If we did it again, we'd use 2 hanks so we could do full sections and a touch more length.  But its really cute none-the-less, don't you think?

On Ravelry, I played around with the filters and ended up with some pretty options for this yarn.   I selected shawls, just to narrow it down, but if you removed that filter, many little tops came up.

For Crocheters wanting to use 1 ball, I found these one ball crochet patterns.

And I found these two hank crochet patterns.

For Knitters wanting to use 1 ball, I found these one hank knit patterns.

And I found these two hank knit patterns.

A word of warning, I filtered down to free patterns, and sometimes free means that the pattern isn't all that well proofed by a tech editor.
