Dear Jane,

Fireworks 🎇

While enjoyable for us to look at, fireworks can be a big stressor for all our pets (birds included). Since we can't control people setting them off around us, here are some tips to help your bird cope this 4th of July.

Food 🌭

Barbecues are great for people - not for birds. Resist the urge to share your food with your bird and make sure your guests are on the same page.

Check out Natural Feeding System cookbooks for our bird-friendly kabobs recipe.

Open Doors🚪

Watch out for open doors! Be extra vigilant to prevent your bird accidentally getting out (it can happen to anyone!). To make it fool proof consider keeping your bird in its cage when guests come over.

Guests 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

Having more people in your home than your bird is used to can be really stressful for them. Here are some tips to help your bird deal with the extra humans in your home this weekend (while this blog was written for winter holidays, many of the same guidelines apply).

Savings parrots one person at a time...
