I mentioned in my last email that we've been busy these past few months.  Here's a look at what we've been up to!

Introducing Yarn Trails and Global Tales, Yarn Culture's new hosted travel program.

If you've been following us for a few years, you know we hosted our first trips in 2019 to Edinburgh, Scotland and Hessen, Germany.  In 2023 we started traveling again with a Spring trip to Denmark. We had so much fun, we hoped we could pull off a winter trip to Vienna, but without enough time to build the experience we wanted to offer, we switched gears and focused on 2024.

We are delighted to unveil our exciting European travel destinations for 2024, carefully curated for you to immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of yarn traditions and crafty wonders.

We’ll start our year of travel in February 2024 with two trips to Spain that you can sign up for NOW!

     🇪🇸 Madrid & Barcelona 🇪🇸 !

Leave the February blues behind and join us for a week in Madrid, Spain from February 7-14, 2024.

Join us in Madrid, the capital and the heart of Spain where we will have the opportunity to explore the local culture, enjoy delicious Spanish cuisine, and experience the city's vibrant atmosphere.

Knitting
Madrid is home to the Love Yarn Madrid Festival – Europe’s largest yarn festival - and will be the focal point of our knitting and yarn experience. Along with a 3-day pass to wander the festival to your heart’s content, you’ll receive passes to two master classes – each led by a maker that we can’t wait for you to meet! And if you want to learn even more, you can sign up for classes on your own while spots are available. The schedule will go live this fall and we will share more details then.

Touring
You will also enjoy a myriad of cultural activities in Madrid including walking tours, tapas tasting, and a night of Flamenco.  We’ve planned visits to the well-known markets - Mercado de San Miguel and the lively El Rastro - along with museums and sites including private trips to the renowned city of Toledo and the vineyards of a nearby winery.

Enjoy an unforgettable experience that seamlessly weaves together culture, craft, and camaraderie in this Catalan region of Spain from February 15-22, 2024.

Knitting
Barcelona is the home of designer Cecilia Losada, a well-known designer in both knit and crochet. We’ve organized 9 hours of workshops with Cecilia during our week in Barcelona where we’ll learn mosaic and stranded design techniques – a cornerstone of her designs. We’ll also visit local yarns shops where you’ll have a chance to find both local and international yarns.

Touring
We will also experience in the best of what Barcelona offers including including walking tours of the City and Gothic Quarter, tapas tasting, and a night of Flamenco. You’ll tour the incredible architecture of Antoni Gaudi, soar above the city on the Montjuïc cable car and delve into the art of Picasso and Joan Miró. You’ll try your hand at preparing your own tapas dinner in a private cooking class and sip wine during a guided visit to a local winery. We’ll end the trip with an excursion to Montserrat – a mountain, a sanctuary, and a monastery.

Become a Double Destination Traveler to Spain

While we have planned both trips to Spain as individual 7-day excursions, we have also scheduled them back-to-back for travelers who have the time and desire to join us for both trips.

If that sounds like you, we are offering a discount off the total price for both trips to pay for an extra night in Madrid as well as 1st class passage on a high-speed train from Madrid to Barcelona.  Would you rather fly or make a different stop on your way to Barcelona?  No problem!  We're offering a discount instead of bookings so you can use those funds as you wish.

Find out more about our Double Destination discount for Spain, available while there are spots left for both trips.

Where in the World Can you Find Yarn Culture?

We’re looking forward to a busy year of travel in 2024 and hope you’ll be able to join us.

State-Side

Meet us in Denver, Colorado during Columbus Day weekend (October 6-9, 2024) at the First Annual Rocky Mountain Rhinebeck - where your favorite wool festival and an old-fashioned yarn crawl meet. Visit shops, indie studios, maybe a farm store or two! We'll be sharing space at Colorful Yarns, one of our favorite yarn shops in Denver!

Other Cool Places

We’ll be announcing details for the following trips during the next weeks.
